A little about me

OKay, so talking about myself makes me uncomfortable, I am not totally insecure but I was raised to ask questions, look folks in the eye and not be selfish... not that talking about ones self is necessarily that, I just don't feel like I should.  However, I like to connect with people and being and selling online it makes it difficult to truly do so... so here I am.

I love my studio.  My studio is like a long hall way but the view is incredible and the amount of time I spend there is LONG, so it is sort of fitting.

Yep I got my Jedi boots on....  ready for battle with the forces of creativity.  (okay, here is an insight, I am a total geek.)

This is one of my views that I get to see...
The romantic in me wants to sing when the flowers bloom, and the light....oh la la.

Me outside my studio, this leads to the back yard.
I am wearing some of my jewelry... and of course, eyeing the view!

I am just a jewelry designer that loves nature and friendship, plus add a good laugh and I am as happy as well.... a jewelry designer.  If you have any questions about my work I would love to chat!  Now if you want all my secrets... well all I can say is " I am your father!"  NOOOOOO!  hee hee hee

Pendants!

It is so difficult for me to create anything when the sun is shining, however, sometimes I can dream up some fun things when sitting in it's rays.   Soldered glass pendants can be simple, artistic, whimsical, political... just about anything you can dream up.  Many folks are creating them for these reasons and more, I just like to play with glass, paper, and metal... and having fingers always covered in glue can be helpful (and sticky) around the house...LOL!

I get asked all the time how do I get my solder smooth... here are 2 tips that has helped me and I am going to share it with you.  Gel Flux, the only way to go.  You can control gel flux much more easily than with a liquid or spray, also, have a soldering iron that has a temp control, don't buy the cheap ones at the craft stores, the temperature changes to much and it will cause "sticking" or bumps in solder.  Inland is a good professional brand and may cost more but you will get better results.

Or (the sales person in me) I can make some for you... tee hee.  I love creating keepsakes for folks that just want a little something special and soldered glass pendants just seem to be the perfect art form for this.  If you would like me to create some or would like to purchase one I already have completed, find me here....  Beady Monkey Pendants

Cinco De Mayo! Oh Mayo!

Salem Oregon has this great art walk down town, not to far from work and not to far from home... I love the crowds and I love the music playing in the air, it is the first Wednesday of every month and this year it falls today.... Cinco De Mayo!  YAY!   So hopefully after a hard days work I can go for a walk and catch the sights, sounds and smells (good food to be had as well!)  If you live in the area, don't miss it, today should be a blast!

Adorn thy hand!

Rings are my new favorite things to make and sadly I only have 10 fingers (thumbs included) to decorate...

I am always lamenting about not have extra arms and hands... now I am really whimpering on about it...  I have more jewelry I can shake a feather at (sticks seem mean)   So, like always I figured I would sell some (kinda sharing I suppose)  I see everything now as an object I can wear...  no antique mall, fabric store, bead shop, paper mart,  are safe from me.... hee hee hee hee

My Red Flower Ring is just one of the creations!
I have already sold one and I have a small stack of more to add!  I also would like to create some using buttons and securely tied bows... hee hee hee  I am a ring monster now!

Oh and stay tuned I am announcing and show casing the contest winner tomorrow on this very blog... wee!
